The SP Start-up Fund for Networks announces 13 awards for a total amount of USD 440 160 for starting-up social performance activities.
The following national microfinance associations are winners of the SP Start-up Fund call for proposals:
- Union of Credit Organizations of the Republic of Armenia (UCORA), Armenia
- Credit and Development Forum (CDF), Bangladesh
- China Association for Microfinance (CAM), China
- Ghana Microfinance Institutions Network (GHAMFIN), Ghana
- Micro Finance Institutions Network (MFIN), India
- Association Professionnelle des Systèmes Financiers Décentralisés (APSFD-CI), Ivory Coast
- Association of Microfinance Organizations of Kazakhstan (AMFOK), Kazakhstan
- Centre for Microfinance (CMF), Nepal
- Palestinian Network for Small and Microfinance (Sharakeh), Palestine
- National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), Philippines
- National Partnership of Russian Microfinance Sector’s Members (NAMMS), Russia
- Association of Micro Finance Institutions Rwanda, Rwanda
- Tanzanian Association of Microfinance Institutions (TAMFIN), Tanzania
The awarded 13 networks were selected in a competitive processes from among 32 applicants coming from 30 countries. The grantee networks will participate in capacity building activities organized by the SP Start-up Fund in October and November 2011. Further, they will begin their one year social performance start-up projects to be implemented by the end of 2012. It is expected that through the SP Start-up Fund support, the following results will have been achieved:
- 13 networks will have implemented their social performance activities including awareness raising events with members as well as training in social performance reporting and management
- 317 MFIs will have started social performance reporting to the MIX
- 108 MFIs will have introduced improvements in their Social Performance Management practices
- 31 local consultants and networks staff will have been capacitated in providing leadership and technical support on social performance.
